London, UK – 23 June 2025 – Teens in AI, a social impact-driven initiative that inspires young people to explore futures in responsible tech and AI through collaborative, hands-on learning, is proud to announce the return of its global AI4Good Incubator, taking place from 28 July to 1 August 2025. With the support of our Platinum Partner, Sage, the leader in accounting, financial, HR and payroll tech for small and mid-sized businesses, we aim to provide youth with the tools and resources they need to drive innovation and make a difference in their communities.

Teens in AI’s partnership with Sage is powered by Sage Foundation, which enables Sage colleagues and partners to tackle inequality and create access to opportunity in its communities through volunteering and fundraising. Through the AI4Good Incubator, Teens in AI and Sage Foundation hope to harness technology to create a fairer and more diverse tech industry where everyone has equal opportunity to maximise their potential.

Now in its fourth year, the AI4Good Incubator is a 5-day global virtual bootcamp for teens aged 12–18 work in teams to develop ethical, AI-driven solutions to some of the world’s most pressing climate-related challenges taking inspiration from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With the support of Platinum Partner Sage, the programme equips young people with the tools, mentorship and inspiration they need to become change-makers in their communities.

Open to all – regardless of prior experience or background – it brings together young minds passionate about technology, equity and impact. Participants join from around the world, working in diverse teams and receiving guidance from leading industry experts. As part of our bold strategy to scale the AI4Good Incubator, 2025 marks two major milestones: our first in-person programme in South Africa – led by our IWD Global Techathon 2025 Community Award winners – and a wider focus on tackling even more UN SDGs.

Last year, 58% of participants identified as female or non-binary, and 75% came from diverse ethnic backgrounds*. With Sage, Teens in AI champions diversity as key to building better solutions and shaping a tech future that works for everyone.

This year’s theme, “Planet in Balance ~ Land, Sea and Sky”, focuses on United Nations SDGs 13, 14 and 15. These include: taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts (13); conserving and sustainably using the oceans, seas and marine resources (14); and protecting and restoring ecosystems on land, halting biodiversity loss and managing forests and land sustainably (15).

Aaron Harris, Chief Technology Officer at Sage, comments: Our continued partnership with Teens in AI reflects our belief that young people have the creativity and conviction to lead meaningful change. By supporting the AI4Good Incubator, we’re investing in a new generation of technologists who value ethics, equity and sustainability. This programme doesn’t just teach AI – it encourages young people to think critically, act boldly and use technology to tackle real environmental challenges. It’s inspiring to see the solutions they bring to life – and a reminder that the future of tech is in good hands.”

The 2024 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Progress Report** paints a stark picture. Just 15% of climate-related targets are on track. Ocean acidification is worsening, jeopardising marine biodiversity and food security. Land degradation affects over 3.2 billion people, and more than one million species remain at risk of extinction. These cascading crises call for bold, youth-led innovation—the kind the AI4Good Incubator is designed to unlock.

Elena Sinel, Founder and CEO of Teens in AI comments: “Young people are not waiting to be told how to solve the climate crisis – they’re stepping up and building the solutions themselves. Through the AI4Good Incubator, we’re giving them the knowledge, support and platform to apply ethical AI to the most urgent challenges facing our planet. The future is not only theirs to inherit – it’s theirs to shape.”

Over the five-day programme, participants will ideate, build and refine their projects with the guidance of expert mentors. At the end of the week, teams will pitch to senior leaders for feedback and a chance to win prizes. Previous winners went on to submit their projects to Oxford-Said Climate Challenge and were flown to Dubai to compete live!

In the words of one of last year’s alumni, It was a whole new world to me! I was expecting excellent work, good interaction and participation with my team, and [the experience] exceeded my expectations. Every lesson was educational and interesting. It was interesting to find solutions for the problems caused by humans and how we can use AI to solve them. It was amazing! – Joy, age 15, from Ghana.

London, UK – 8 July 2024 – Teens in AI, a social impact-driven initiative that inspires teens to explore a future in responsible tech and AI through collaborative, hands-on learning experiences, is delighted to announce the third edition of its global annual AI4Good Incubator taking place from 19 to 23 August 2024. Teens in AI believes in harnessing technology to create a fair world where everyone has equal opportunity to maximise their potential.

The AI4Good Incubator is a global 5-day virtual bootcamp style programme where teens aged 12-18 work in teams to build ethical AI-driven projects that address real-world problems inspired by a climate-related United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).  With the support of our Platinum Partner, Sage powered by Sage Foundation, we aim to provide youth with the tools and resources they need to drive innovation and make a difference in their communities.

Also partnering this year is The Alan Turing Institute. As part of this collaboration, Dr Mhairi Aitken, Morgan Briggs and Sabeehah Mahomed from the Institute’s Public Policy Programme will deliver an “Introduction to AI Ethics” Masterclass to participants. This masterclass is a foundational guide to responsible innovation, exploring the landscape of AI Ethics, unravelling AI myths, and emphasising core AI ethics principles, particularly in safeguarding children’s rights under the UNCRC.

Participants from around the world will have the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded youth and receive mentoring and guidance from industry experts. This year’s AI4Good Incubator aims to expand the programme across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The programme is open to everyone, regardless of background or experience with AI. The highly anticipated event will see young people come together to learn the vital skills needed to drive responsible innovation to solve today’s problems using cutting-edge technologies. Last year, 59% of the participants identified as female and non-binary, with 73% indicating they are from diverse ethnic backgrounds*. Together with Sage, we believe that diversity is essential to driving innovation and solving today’s most pressing issues.

Dr Mhairi Aitken, Ethics Fellow at The Alan Turing Institute commented: “We are delighted to be collaborating with Teens in AI for the 2024 AI4Good Incubator which places a strong emphasis on AI ethics in equipping young people with the skills and knowledge to lead the way in responsible innovation for today and tomorrow. This collaboration is a unique opportunity bringing together young people from around the world to foster deeper understandings of the importance of AI ethics and responsible innovation among young innovators.

The topic for this year’s AI4Good Incubator is ‘Climate Action’, SDG 13 – one of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals – which aims to take urgent action to combat climate change and its effects. The theme for this year is “Green Minds, Bright Futures”.

A March 2024 report by the World Meteorological Organization** highlights urgent climate change concerns. Record-high global carbon dioxide levels drive temperatures 1.1 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, exacerbating extreme weather. Biodiversity loss threatens one million species, while melting ice caps accelerate sea level rise. Climate disruptions compound food insecurity, displacing 22.5 million people yearly. Initiatives like the AI4Good Incubator aim to foster innovative climate solutions whilst also promoting sustainable AI development, crucial for mitigating carbon emissions.

Last year, 59% of the participants identified as female and non-binary, with 73% indicating they are from diverse ethnic backgrounds*. Together with Sage, we believe that diversity is essential to driving innovation and solving today’s most pressing issues.

Teens in AI Founder and CEO, Elena Sinel, comments: “At Teens in AI, we believe in the power of young minds to drive positive change in the world. With the AI4Good Incubator focusing on climate action this year, we’re empowering teens to harness the potential of responsible AI for the betterment of our planet. Through collaborative innovation and mentorship, we’re fostering a generation of ethical tech leaders committed to building a sustainable future.

Sage and The Alan Turing Institute are committed to supporting the AI4Good Incubator, aligning with our mission to empower the next generation of ethical tech leaders by providing them with the knowledge and tools needed to drive positive social impact through technology.

Participants will have the chance to develop their projects with the support of industry experts and mentors. At the end of the programme, they will have the opportunity to pitch their projects to senior leadership for feedback and compete for prizes. Previous prizes have included the chance to pitch at one of our corporate partners’ events and an invitation to attend the annual International Telecommunication Union (ITU) AI4Good Global Summit, a gathering of industry leaders, policymakers and academics to discuss the ethical and practical implications of AI and its impact on society.

The August programme runs for five full days, from 9am to 5pm BST. Due to the exclusive nature of the event, there is a fee for participants, however, Teens in AI does offer Grants to eligible students. If you’re interested in learning more about the AI4Good Incubator, visit our website (link below)

This year’s Incubator follows the launch earlier this year of Teens in AI’s AI Adventures programme, its online self-paced courses – where young minds learn to think critically and solve real-world problems using AI responsibly for the greater good. NVIDIA Inspired the Future: A Recap of the Ada Lovelace Hackathon

In a recent blog post on NVIDIA’s corporate website, the spotlight shines on the groundbreaking collaboration between Teens in AI and NVIDIA in organising the annual Ada Lovelace Hackathon. The article emphasizes the pivotal role of AI and data science in today’s workforce, especially for the younger generation.

Named after the 19th-century mathematician considered the first computer programmer, the event gathered speakers and mentors to encourage young women to pursue AI careers. With an expected participation of over 1,000 girls from 20+ countries, the hackathon offered prizes and access to NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute credits for advanced training.

NVIDIA employees, including Kate Kallot, head of emerging areas, actively participated as mentors and judges, reinforcing the company’s commitment to diversifying the tech industry. The blog underlined NVIDIA’s broader efforts to promote diversity in tech, expand AI education, and create opportunities for underrepresented groups, such as the partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania.

Collaborations like this one with NVIDIA are essential to our mission as Teens in AI to bridge the gender gap in STEM by providing early exposure to AI for young, underrepresented youth, levelling the playing field, and empowering them to solve social, humanitarian, and environmental challenges as outlined by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

By emphasizing the growing significance of AI in the global economy and the need to encourage young minds to embark on their AI journeys. It highlights NVIDIA’s commitment to driving the future of AI and the collaboration with Teens in AI as a pivotal step toward achieving a more inclusive and sustainable world.

Heartfelt thanks go out to the mentors, judges, thought leaders, and the fantastic support from the entire NVIDIA team. Most importantly, gratitude is extended to the teenagers who enthusiastically joined from over 20 countries worldwide.

We have the ability to shape a better future through collaboration.

Next Generation: ‘Teens in AI’ Takes on the Ada Lovelace Hackathon

NVIDIA’s support of Teens in AI is part of our broader commitment to bringing more diversity to tech, expanding access to AI education and championing opportunities for traditionally underrepresented groups.

Innovating for a Better Future, Together

London, UK, 24 July 2023Teens in AI, an initiative focused on inspiring teens to explore a future in tech and AI through collaborative, hands-on learning experiences, has joined forces with Capgemini. Capgemini is a global leader in partnering with companies to transform and manage their business by harnessing the power of technology. Together, they are collaborating on the AI4Good Incubator, taking place from 24 to 28 July 2023. Both organisations share a common goal in leveraging technology to build an equitable world where every individual has an equal chance to unlock their potential, fostering innovation and generating positive societal change.

The AI4Good Incubator is a five-day bootcamp-style programme aimed at empowering youth aged 12 to 18 to create impactful AI-driven projects that address real-world problems guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With Capgemini’s support, we aim to provide youth with the tools and resources they need to drive innovation and make a difference in their communities.

Anne-Laure Thibaud, EVP, Data & AI Group Offer Leader at Capgemini comments: “Diversity in AI should not be a number to be reached. It is way more than a matter of fundamental equity; it is also a powerful lever of value creation and climate action. The entire under-represented population must be part of the change that AI is creating, starting from a very early age. By partnering with Teens in AI, we aim to create this positive impact, ensure that AI is in the hands of everybody, and contribute to climate action.

The topic for this year’s AI4Good Incubator is “Life on Land”, Sustainable Development Goal 15 – one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals – which aims to protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, manage forests sustainably, combat desertification, and halt biodiversity loss.

Teens in AI Founder and CEO, Elena Sinel, add: “We believe that youth have a critical role to play in shaping the future of AI and creating a better world. Through this year’s ‘Life on Land’ AI4Good Incubator, we aim to provide them with the skills and resources they need to turn their ideas into reality.

Participants from around the world will have the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded youth and receive mentoring and guidance from industry experts. Participants will be joining from countries including the UK, Kazakhstan, Turkey, UAE, Bulgaria, Germany, Tanzania, Egypt and Mozambique. AI4Good is open to everyone, regardless of background or experience with AI. The highly anticipated event will see young people from all over the world coming together to learn the vital skills needed to drive innovation and solve today’s problems using cutting-edge technologies. We believe that diversity is essential to driving innovation and solving today’s most pressing issues and we are delighted to report that 68% of participants identify as female.

Participants will have the chance to develop their projects with the support of industry experts and mentors. At the end of the programme, they will have the opportunity to pitch their projects to senior leadership for feedback and compete for prizes. Previous prizes have included the chance to pitch at one of our corporate partner’s events and an invitation to attend the AI4Good Global Summit, a gathering of industry leaders, policymakers and academics to discuss the ethical and practical implications of AI and its impact on society.
